Make something, dammit!

It’s late, so I am going to make this brief.

Everyday I am going to make something interesting or fun. Silly could be an apropos way of saying it. Why am I doing this? It’s because I’ve found that life is just a hot piece of garbage without some fun in it, be it engineered or organic (Most say they think organic is better, but it’s the same really).

I challenged myself. I threw down the gauntlet and said that I was going to make something daily, dammit! And so far, it’s gone pretty okay. I’d give it a 3/5 for effort and 4/5 on quality. If I am honest, I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. I make some silly videos on my phone and upload them to TwitterInstagram, and Tumblr or write something funny and post it again on said sites.

Why am I doing this? I have a baby. I bought a house and moved into it and are working on it on an almost endless basis. I have projects everywhere, everyday, do I really need this in my life?

Yes, I do. The point of being creative everyday is to allow myself the ability to make something without over thinking it. To create for the sake of it and post it because I think finding a tiny version of myself in the leaves of carrots is odd and funny. It isn’t ground breaking or original, but it makes my wife chuckle and my family as well; so I consider it a win.

To be completely honest, I don’t allow myself to be silly as much as I should. I feel like everything I have to do has to build toward something and that just isn’t healthy. This feeling has gotten to the point that I feel guilt firing up a video game to unwind as I could be working on my books or blogging here.

I am still writing my books, so don’t worry about that, they are coming.

To close this rather long brief thought, have some fun dammit because not everything in life has to mean something.
