Proven Advice For Successful Email Marketing Strategies

Some individuals hear “email marketing,” and they automatically think of spam; they then reject the idea before trying it. It is your responsibility to come up with email campaigns that your customer will like, look at, and act upon. Read the following article to learn of methods you can use right away.

Identify and appeal to your audience. Once you have a few readers, think of ways to encourage them to sign their friends up. Always provide a link to subscribe to your emails. This will help you to be sure that if someone passes the email on, the person reading it can sign up. Your subscription list will automatically grow as more people who are interested in your business sign up.

If you’re embarking on an email campaign, the fact that you need permission to send people emails cannot be understated. If not, you will be looking at many spam complaints and loss of customers.

Be persistent with your email marketing messages. It can take as many as twenty emails to one prospect before you routinely have their attention. Try telling a good story through your messages. Hook them with a few messages and let it unfold over a series. Running contests that span several weeks are good way to do this.

Use consistency in your message. Always make use of the same company color and logo in your email. The font used in your emails must be easy to read. After receiving a couple of emails, individuals will begin to recognize and pay attention to them. You should always have a goal of becoming familiar to your customers, especially when you are using an email marketing campaign.

If you want your email marketing messages to flow out across the Internet to people’s inboxes, consider where you are sending them from. Sent frequently from known and stable IP addresses is best. Sudden surges from new IP locations can raise suspicions and even result in blocks and blacklists from ISP’s.

Include a link at the bottom of any marketing emails that allows people to unsubscribe easily. If someone does not want to receive your messages, providing a simple way for them to unsubscribe is preferable to ending up in their spam folder. It will also help to protect your reputation as a business that respects its customers.

Make sure your emails are consistent with any branding you have done. You should be including your company colors, logos and anything else unique to your business in your emails. Customers should be able to recognize your emails when they arrive in their in-boxes so that they are not automatically deleted.

Test sending your email marketing on different days of the week and at various times during the day. You’ll find that different times and dates will increase or decrease your open rates to your emails. Note the best time/day of the week mixtures and plan your most important email marketing campaigns to be released during those windows.

You should always have permission before sending out unsolicited emails to people. If you do not do this, people will view you as a spammer and will simply delete all your emails or possibly unsubscribe from your site. After a few complaints, your web host is likely to boot you from their servers.

Do not send out rough drafts of your content. Write out what you want to say, and then cut the word count in half and rewrite to fit within your new limit. This generates messages that get to the point. Readers want to spend no more than three paragraphs of time reading your message, and maybe not even that.

Make your emails concise. No one wants to read through a number of paragraphs when several would have sufficed. People don’t have much time these days, and you could become persona non grata in their email boxes if you don’t appreciate the time crunch that most people have to deal with these days.

Be persistent. Studies show that it takes a minimum of 7 to 8 impressions before your advertisements will take effect on a potential customer, and it could take many more. You need to touch base with your customers at least once every few weeks, and assume they will not buy your product or even click your links for several iterations of messages.

Make sure that the call to action in your messages is crystal clear. Featuring this element prominently dramatically increases the chances of a reader clicking on it and following through to your landing page. Even if they do not on a particular message, it will prevent them from getting soured on a jumbled message that does not seem to have a focal point.

Make use of pre-headers in your marketing emails. Certain email clients – the more advanced web-based ones in particular – display a short summary for each email in the inbox. This is the pre-header. It is easy to set up. Clients generate pre-headers from the first line of text in the message. Compose your emails accordingly!

Make full use of passive feedback in your email marketing campaign. There are simple but powerful tools available to you that will give you lots of data on what your subscribers do with your messages. You must learn to use these tools and collect this valuable information. Find out who clicks on what links and determine why.

Always make your audience a priority when you send out emails. Consider what will appeal to them visually. What do you think they would like to read? Then, convert these interests into sales opportunities! Apply what you just read to boost your sales.
